House Lenz

The former water reservoir of the town of Ueberlingen was closed down in 1994.

In 2002, a construction request was filed for the abandoned site, as the municipalities of Ueberlingen wanted to sell the property.

The suggestion of a building in classical Bauhaus style was a favorite with the Country Monument Office. It also was suggested not to stylize the Little Water Castle in a modern way and rather have the clear contrast. This was welcomed by the authorities. The construction request was approved and the project realized in 2003.

The residential building was partly built over the former underground water tank, which is now used as an underground car park, with access by an opening on the side.  From the underground car park one has access to the residential houses cellar.

The Little Water Castle was restored according to the  guidelines of the Monument Protection Authority in 2012
